Spendor

Founded in 1969 in England by Spencer Hughes, a former BBC sound engineer; the name combines "Spen" and "Dor" from the first names of founders Spencer and Dorothy Hughes. Hughes contributed to the development of the BBC LS3/5a monitor, and Spendor manufactured the LS3/5a under BBC license.
